Cooper’s Ferry Reports:
Investing in Camden’s People and Neighborhoods
American Water, one of many the leading companies moving to Camden, is focused on the city’s people and improving public spaces. Yesterday volunteers from the company spent their workday at Hopeworks 'N Camden, mentoring local young men and women. Hopeworks ‘N Camden offers a wide host of education, technology, and entrepreneurship programs that help area youth to identify and earn a sustainable future. American Water worked one-on-one with them to create an interactive map of the 16 parks and 69 trails located throughout Camden, and then they worked as a team to build an interactive digital treasure hunt using GPS coordinates located along trails on the map. Read more about this remarkable endeavor in SNJ Today. This morning, volunteers from the company spent time cleaning up Camden’s Cooper's Poynt Park. The company also presented the Camden Stormwater Management and Resource Training (SMART) Initiative with a $10,000 check! SMART will use the funding to push for smarter infrastructure investment, to restore and remediate brownfield areas, and to promote eco-friendly efforts at a grassroots level.
We want to thank American Water for their commitment to Camden.
